I'm now doing my second big project with Claude Code, not an experiment, and we're going through the same mess we went through last time. I know what I want, I can show it what I want, give it docs for what I want, and it keeps leading me into different corners that have nothing to do with it. When it clicks, it can go faster than a thousand programmers and it's a miracle, and when we can harness it to the job we want to do it's incredibly economical. $100 for $1 million of work. That's why you see me full of gusto for that mode. What I haven't written about how when you slow to nothing, back and forth, and you get no closer. I hate this kind of work, esp the role I have to play in it. -

A tech news reader with a swipe deck instead of an infinite feed offline saves, no account, English/French/Arabic
The part I care about most is the Deck. Instead of scrolling a feed forever, you get one story at a time as a card. Swipe right and it unfolds into the reader, swipe left and it's gone and the next one springs up. The card rotates with your finger and the keep/skip stamps fade in as you drag, so you can feel the commit point before you let go. It turns "I have 40 tabs open" into a two-minute triage.
The rest:
Reader is clutter-free — article text, adjustable size, nothing else. No related-content grid, no newsletter interstitial.
Offline reading is a toggle, and it's real: flip it on and every story you've saved gets its full content pulled down at launch, so Saved works on a plane or in a tunnel. Off by default, because it costs bandwidth and I'd rather you opt in.

I'm looking into how to document privacy for an RSS-based, federated service, and I'd love to see how others have handled it.
Specifically: what happens to a post once it leaves your server — syndicated over RSS, cached, crossposted to another instance, or shown by third-party readers? I'm based in Europe, so I'm especially keen on examples that aren't written purely from a US angle. Not looking for legal advice — mostly how people have actually thought about it.
A couple of decisions I ended up making, as discussion starters (and because I'd genuinely like to hear if others went a different way):
Erasure vs. federation. Once a post has been crossposted to another server, my take is that actual removal over there is up to that server (caches, archives) — we request the takedown, but can't guarantee it. How do you word this without either over-promising or scaring people off?
Traces after deletion. When an account is deleted, its old public address returns a permanent "account withdrawn" (HTTP 410) — which still reveals that a handle once existed. I chose to spell that out rather than pretend deletion is total. Does anyone handle this differently?

The 4th book in the Extracted series, RR Haywood continues to make these books great.
It's a complete pivot from the first trilogy of books. Same characters, but completely different storyline. The book ends with "to be continued..." so I'm hoping this will be another trilogy of books, as the story is just getting started. Great series of books, highly recommended.
A few people have recommended Dungeon Crawler Carl to me, and I think I'm in the mood for something with a little more humour. So that's what I'm going to start reading next.

Feedrion: A Cross-Platform RSS Reader with Spoiler Protection, Local AI, Text-to-Speech, and Offline Reading

I would like to introduce Feedrion, a new application for reading and aggregating RSS feeds, YouTube channels, Google News feeds, and more, similar to Feedly or Inoreader, but with innovative new features. Available on web (https://feedrion.com), andoid, wear os.

A little background: I previously used Netvibes. After it was discontinued, I switched to Feedly, but I never really enjoyed using it, especially its Android application. So I decided to create my own RSS reader.
My goal was to build a simple and enjoyable application with several features that I found difficult to find elsewhere.
Main Features
🛡️ Spoiler Protection
Are you following a TV series, a sport, a video game, or a competition?
Add the keywords you want to avoid, and Feedrion will automatically hide titles and previews that might contain spoilers. You can reveal them whenever you choose.
This is actually the main reason I created the application: I was tired of getting spoiled simply by checking my RSS feeds.
🤖 AI-Powered Summaries and Translations
You can use your own API key from Claude, OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter, Cerebras, or other compatible providers to:
- generate article summaries;
- translate content;
- choose the AI model;
- customize the instructions used.
Requests are sent directly from your device to the provider you select. Your API key and data never pass through Feedrion’s servers.
Some providers, such as Groq and Cerebras, offer free usage quotas that may be sufficient for personal use.
📴 Offline Reading and Synchronization
Articles are stored locally so that you can read them without an internet connection.
As soon as your connection is restored, your data is synchronized. Read articles, saved items, folders, and preferences follow you across your devices, particularly Android and the Web.

Feedrion can read articles aloud, making it convenient to listen while walking, cooking, or travelling.

After some bug fix juggling that wasn't going anywhere, decided to throw a problem at GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra, which I had never used before because it churns through tokens quickly. It spun up a few subagents to handle different facets of the problem. Fascinating.

What happens if you copy my text and quote it in something you write, by hand? Now you’ve got a watermark in your prose, invisible characters or something, that implicates that your prose is AI-generated? Even though you didn’t use AI and just copy and pasted text from me? Madness.
Maybe the watermark won't work on short sections of text, like a blockquote, because there aren't enough words to detect a pattern (unless every word is shifted with the algorithm, which seems insane). But who knows, because how it really works is a secret.

Following up on my comment yesterday, I now have Codex → OpenClaw working, so I can chat with my bot in the same place I have other AI chats. Codex wrote a plugin for itself to handle the connection, plus some setup on the OpenClaw server. 🤖
