San Francisco Bay area newspapers owned by MediaNews Group (East Bay Times, Mercury News, Marin Independent Journal) have for a long time published RSS feeds for various sections of their sites. For example, the source code for the Mercury News homepage currently includes the following link to an article feed:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="The Mercury News » Feed" href="https://www.mercurynews.com/feed/" /> My feed reader software indicates that these feeds all quit working on March 9th. When I try to load any of them directly in my browser, I get an HTTP 403 error.
Does anyone know what happened and how we might get them to fix it? I tried contacting them via a form but never heard back.
