I occasionally post sets of links I've collected to my blog. I've been using my instance of rss.chat to collect links.

I've figured out a simple bash script:

That pulls in the markdowntext of the last 10 links so I can edit a little then post to my blog. I run the script from TextMate, add a new tab, paste and edit.

Wondering how long items in your feed persists here?

I meant blogging via AppleScript was niche.

What is nice about the rss.chat set up is if I post a link from one tab rss.chat updates the page in another tab without refresh.

I’ve managed to make a small AppleScript that gets the selection from Safari & a link and posts it to RSS.chat. Post Link & Quote to RSS.chat Fairly niche.

Trivial thought: Running my own rsschat the favicon is the same as rss.chat & demo.rss.chat. The other day I had drummer and scripting open in the same window too. I often have enough tabs open that I can't see the titles just icons.

Is there a way to set the favicon for a server you are running?

I am seeing that direct replies on rss.chat are being pulled back to my post, not replies to replies. This is the expected behaviour?

I’ve updated my rss chat server on my Raspberry Pi: John’s Pi chat. A new feature is adding a menu of commands to the menubar. I followed the instructions. Just for fun I decided to edit the example in drummer rather than locally. This lead to a mistake where I used the link button to add a link 🔗, rather than a url attribute, with the suitcase button . Anyway easy to fix. I made the outline public and used that in the config. Using Drummer for the first time in a long while reminded me of the scripts menu which, in my mind links to today a type="link" node opens its url in a new tab; other types get their behaviours later. Other types sounds interesting.

Dave, I've tested a wee bit here, demo.rss.chat and the one I've running on my pi along side WordPress. Going to concentrate on the pi one for a bit so as not to clog up this space. I've two accounts on my test rss.chat. It is probably fragile;-)

I'll pop over to github and add in my 2 pence worth. I've found the same thing as you, replies to myself did not show up. I followed the same path on my own test site, and made a second account. This worked in the same way as yours.

@thebigbabooski Thanks, I think there is some untangling to do between, my WordPress - micro.blog & rss.chat I think @rss.chat on micro.blog might be a fire hose from the rss.chat feed? I am posting this in micro.blog web, wondering where it will turn up!

Dave, I do see it. I a replying in the WordPress comments to see if that comes back to rss.chat.

@thebigbabooski yes. But it also ended up on rss.chat this is a bit confusing to me. I presumed you replied in micro.blog?

Now posting to my new rss.chat account with the same email address as my blog admin. Just a quick late night test. Hopefully any replies there will come back here as comments. Using the new WordPress to rss.chat plugin.
